Returning Students:

Welcome back to WPU! We are excited that you have decided to return and complete your degree. If you have not yet applied for readmission, your first step is to complete the Readmit Application. Information about the readmission process is available through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@wpunj.edu.

If your readmit application has already been approved and you have received your registration PIN from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, your next step is to schedule an appointment with Mrs. Spenser Nyfenger, Assistant Director for Transfer & Readmit Student Services, and/or Mrs. Brianna Reyes Garcia, Professional Academic Advisor/Retention Specialist.

Click here for instructions on how to schedule an appointment through our Navigate system. During your meeting with Mrs. Nyfenger and/or Mrs. Reyes Garcia, you will review your degree requirements, discuss your academic goals and plans, and begin the next steps in the registration process.

We recommend you follow along with the tasks outlined on our Returning Student Checklist to make sure you are prepared for your first semester here at WPU! You will also find helpful information on the Transfer Hub webpage: https://www.wpunj.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer-students/

Tips for Success in Your First Semester:
  • Check your WPConnect (https ://wpconnect.wpunj.edu/portal/) and Blackboard on a consistent basis.

  • Mark your calendar with important deadlines that are listed in your course syllabi and on the University’s academic calendar:https://www.wpunj.edu/registrar/calendars/

  • Prioritize and organize your study and personal time. Time management is key!

  • Maintain regular study hours and establish a study environment that allows you to stay focused. We have many study spots on campus for you to utilize! Find a spot that fits your ideal study-time needs.

  • Keep track of your grades in your courses. At any point in the semester, you should know your grade in each class. If you’re not sure where you stand, the first step is to speak with your course instructor(s).

  • Visit your professors during office hours and utilize the Academic Success Center https://www.wpunj.edu/academics/asc/ for help with challenging courses.

  • Familiarize yourself with your degree evaluation, and course pre-requisites and co-requisites. Degree Works is our degree audit tool, and you can access it through your WP Connect portal. When in doubt, ask for help! Our team is here to support you on your academic journey and are always happy to guide you in the right direction. If you’re not sure where to go for help, start with our team in the Advisement Center (Raubinger Hall, Suite 140 & Lower Level)
