Steps to Formal Acceptance and Continuation in the Undergraduate K-6 Elementary / TSD Dual Licensure Program:

Please Note:

  • All UCC (University Core Curriculum areas 1-3) courses must be completed before beginning the clinical experience.
  • Candidates must take the Praxis Subject Assessment before Clinical Practice I. Official passing scores for the Praxis Subject Assessment (formerly Praxis II) for Elementary Education Multiple Subjects must be received no later than August 1 for Fall Clinical Practice II or January 1 for Spring Clinical Practice II.
  • No more than one additional course may be taken during Clinical Practice.

Visit the Office of Field Experience (OFE) for information regarding field requirements.

Notes / Exit Requirements:

  • Field experience applications for are due one year in advance: each fall (October 15) for placement the next fall, and each spring (March 15) for placement the next spring.
  • Instructions and applications are available for download from the Office of Field Experience's webpage. Completed applications and all supporting documents are turned in to the secretary of the department.
  • Satisfactorily complete chosen academic major requirements
  • Satisfactorily complete program requirements in the dual licensure program with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.00 scale and a 3.0 GPA in education major courses.
