Distance Testing

Many colleges, universities and agencies require testing in a proctored environment. The Office of Testing is the university site for the administration of test instruments to off-campus agencies.

Candidates should contact our office for available dates/times and complete the online registration form once instructions are sent to them. You will be required to pay a non-refundable test administration fee.

Please be advised that the Office of Testing is currently offering proctored exams to the general public and distance learning exams for non-WPU students. Please contact us for information on availability of this service at: testcenter@wpunj.edu or call 973-720-3107 during regular business hours.

 What you should know:

  • Testing services are available on a first-come first-served basis. Call or email for availability.
  • Present your admission form and one (1) current/unexpired photo-bearing identification form.  Failure to have the proper identification on test day will prohibit you from sitting for an examination. 
  • All fees are processed at the time you register for testing with William Paterson University.
  • Candidates must report to: William Paterson University, 300 Pompton Road-Atrium Building Room 122 (Entry #2), Wayne, NJ 07470.

Terms and conditions:

  • Administration fees are non-refundable.
  • Rescheduling of your appointment requires at least 2 business days notice and the new date/time must be at least 48 hours prior to the original scheduled date/time of testing. The requested change is NOT valid until the Office of Testing sends an email confirming the change in date/time. There is a $15 re-scheduling fee.
  • Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment for checking-in. This also allows you time to find parking, locate the Office of Testing, visit a restroom prior to checking-in. There will be no admittance once testing commences.  You will be required to re-schedule your appointment if you do not arrive on time.

Inclement weather and other campus Emergencies:

  • There may be times when examinations are cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather or other campus emergencies.
  • In such cases, the Office of Testing will attempt to contact you via the email address(es) provided by you when you registered to test. Please also visit the WPU home page regularly for any last minute announcements that may affect testing services. Please contact our offices to reschedule. No rescheduling fees are incurred in these cases.
