The EAP is a service for William Paterson University faculty and staff and their household members. The EAP offers confidential short term counseling and referral for problems ranging from work-related concerns to personal difficulties that affect an individual's everyday life. Trained counselors help with problems such as career issues, child care, elder care, family and workplace relationship problems, finances, health care, mental health, retirement, substance abuse, and Work/Life balance.

Provides orientation to criminal justice system, case status information, escort to courtroom, and child care while testifying. Assists with Victims of Crimes Compensation Board applications, with application for courts consideration, and with Victim Impact Statement. Provides referrals to social service agencies.

Help is provided to any lesbian or bisexual woman who is battered by a partner, ex-partner, family member, or roommate. Services include phone counseling and referrals to therapists and domestic violence shelter programs. Battered gay men are also welcome to use the helpline.

Interventions for families and individuals experiencing domestic violence. Services include crisis intervention, counseling, case management, substance abuse evaluation and counseling, advocacy and legal assistance. Also helps with court preparation and accompaniment for domestic violence hearings. ADV also has preventive education and professional training on domestic violence and related topics.
