The Emeriti Faculty Association (EFA) was formed in 2019 to represent all faculty who have been awarded the status of emerita/emeritus faculty member. The primary goal of the EFA is to encourage faculty to remain connected to the William Paterson University community through academic and social programming, use of campus services, and engagement with WP projects. Emerita/emeritus status is conferred by the Board of Trustees, upon recommendation by the President, who have retired from the University after 10 or more years of employment in good standing throughout their career at William Paterson and who held the title of president, provost, associate provost, dean, associate dean, full professor, or librarian 1. The Board of Trustees policy outlining the awarding of Emerita/emeritus status and the benefits thereof can be found here: Board Policy 1 The full list of benefits is listed through on the Benefits page in the navigation bar. The complete database of emerita/emeritus faculty is maintained by the Office of Human Resources in collaboration with the Office of the President and is updated yearly following the Board’s September meeting. Leadership of the EFA is voluntary, with member participation locally, regionally, and online. Questions about emeriti status should be directed to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, 973.720.2104. --> President Office Staff
