Non-driver Identification Cards

What is a non-driver identification card: A non-driver identification card is a way for New Jersey residents aged 14 and older to provide identification.

Please note: The card is not a license to drive and cannot be used for handicapped parking. You may not have a license from New Jersey or any other state when applying for a card.

How do you get a non-driver identification card:

  • Schedule an appointment at a Licensing Center. You must obtain the ID in person.
  • Prior to the appointment, fill out and bring the application for Non-driver ID Application (Form BA-208).
  • Pass the 6 Points of ID requirements.
  • Pay the $24 fee.
  • The non-driver ID will be mailed to you.
  • You may renew the ID online and there is a renewal fee.

What is a non-driver identification card for persons with a disability: This type of card also can provide a form of identification for New Jersey residents aged 14 and older.
