Advising Tips

In order to register for classes, every student needs an Alternate PIN which changes every semester.

All students are encouraged to get in touch with their advisor early to get the Alternate PIN. (If you are not sure who your advisor is, then please follow these instructions.) Registration follows the published timetables that are accessible via the links at

Getting your Alternate PIN and registering early is especially important for online classes since it is not possible to get an override for closed online classes.

If a face-to-face class is closed or if you are missing a prerequisite, the chair of the department that is offering the course may give you an override so that you can register for the course. Please note, though, that it is the chair's decision and it may not be possible to get an override for a variety of reasons.
