Mengqi Wang, a Leading Figure of China New Literati Painting Circle, visited William Paterson University

At the invitation of Center for Chinese Art at William Paterson University, Professor Mengqi Wang, representative of China New Literati Painting, visited the University from February 9, 2019 to March 10, 2019. During his visit, Wang held an exhibition of his Chinese ink paintings “Where the Heart Belongs” at the New York Gallery of Chinese Art, NYC, gave a lecture on “Mengqi Wang and the China New Literati Painting,” and a demonstration of Chinese ink painting at the University.

A leading figure of China New Literati Painting circle. He was the Chair and Professor of Chinese Painting Department at Nanjing Arts Institute and Professor of Art College at Shanghai University. Currently, he is a researcher at the China National Academy of Painting in Beijing. His works have been displayed in Chinese national exhibitions and international exhibitions such as “China: 5,000 Years, Innovation and Transformation in the Arts” at Guggenheim Museum. His figure ink paintings, together with his views on art and life, have influenced a whole generation of Chinese artists.

A Gathering: Face to Face with the Crew of Chinese Folk-Dance Drama Princess Zhaojun

Members of the elite China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre performed selections from Princess Zhaojun at the Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J., on Tuesday, March 19 at 3 p.m.

Who gave the lecture “Princess Zhaojun and Chinese Folk Dance,” is Deputy Director of the Dance Troupe of the Chinese National Opera and Dance Drama Theater, National Class-B Actor, Master of Arts, and actor of Monarch Huhaanyeke in the dance drama Princess Zhaojun.

Chinese Dance Poem “National Beauty” from Chinese Oriental Song and Dance Troupe Visited and Performed at William Paterson University

From December 10th to 11,2019, the "National Beauty" troupe visited William Paterson University under the leadership of Jia Xiuling, director of Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd., China. On December 11, 2019, “National Beauty”, a performance of traditional Chinese music and dance performed by the Chinese Oriental Song and Dance Troupe. The performance center, which was the Shea Center for Performing Arts, was crowned with over 900 attendees from New York, New Jersey and the East Coast of the United States.

National Beauty is a dance poem directed by the famous director Chen Shen, performed by 30 top level young Chinese dancers including Ke Liu, Huizhi Zhuang, Peng Sun and Gen Sun.
