The program will explore music from the first half of the 20th century including Poulenc’s La courte paille, and selections of songs by Erich Korngold and Florence Price, as well as more contemporary music by composers such as Isabelle Aboulker, John Metcalf, Chris DeBlasio, and Jeff Blumenkranz. Despite being “modern,” the program will explore a number of styles and approaches to vocal writing, and will be a great opportunity to hear some engaging and lesser-known works.
