Production Tripods
Tripod Competency Test
The Technical Services Window carries a variety of Sachtler tripods for students in film or video production classes to borrow. Communication majors who are not currently in a production class can get permission to use the tripods as a non-class user from a Full-Time video or film professor. Phone Tripods
The Technical Services Window also carries phone tripods. This kit comes with the a the Sony VCT-R640 tripod and the SmallRig 4382 Phone holder. The SmallRig phone holder can accomodate phones with a width of 2.5 - 3.5" (6.3 to 8.9cm). The SmallRig Phone holder can be attached to any tripod with a 1/4-20 thread or a cold shoe mount. It also has an additonal cold shoe mount on it.

The DJI Ronin RS3 Pro Gimbal Kit is a camera stabilization system that will work with the Canon 7D and 6K Pro that we have available at the TSW. It can handle a payload of 10 lbs. For a list of compatible cameras, click here:

The kit includes a focus motor, a motor or mount it with gear strip, a briefcase hangle, a BG30 brip, a lower extented quick release plate, a wireless Ronin Image Transmitter, a phone holder, USB multi-camera control cables, multiple HDMI cables, power cables, and a lens-fastening strap. Software can be loaded to your smart phone for additional control.
RS3 Pro Gimbal Kit Competency Test
The Steadicam Air 15 monopod with E Image Fluid Head is a monopod kit that allows for enhanced stability and maneuverability compared to handheld shooting while remaining more mobile than a tripod. It has a maximum height of 62.5" and a minimum height of 28" and has a 15-pound load capacity. The monopod has a spring-activated gas lift in the foot pedal that allows you to quickly and easily adjust the height.
The monopod is available to students who are currently enrolled in a Communication Department production class or who have gotten permission to use the monopod as a non-class user from a Full-Time video or film production professor.
