New Jersey History Day uses the zFairs online contest system provided by National History Day. Each contest has a different link for registration.
How to Register
1. Teachers first! Teachers (or sponsoring adults) must register first. Students can't register until their teacher has made an account.
2. Find your Regional Contest. Which contest you attend is based on what county your school is in. Check the map below to see which one you should sign up for. TIP: Bookmark your contest website so you can find it again easily!
If your school is in Bergen, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, or Warren County, register for:
3. Create Your Account. Follow the prompts to create your account. Please fill out all the fields. You don't need to know all your information yet to create an account. You can save your profile and go back to complete it as you figure out your category, title, description, and more.
4. Finish your registration by 11:59 PM on February 1, 2026. This is a hard deadline - there are no late registrations. It's a good idea to register early so you won't face last-minute problems trying to complete your registration on deadline day.
