Forage is a free, online platform that offers bite-sized, virtual work experience programs created by Fortune 500 companies and leading organizations. These self-paced job simulations give you a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work in different industries and roles—while helping you build practical skills employers value.
In just 2–6 hours, you’ll:
Complete real-world tasks designed by top companies.
Learn the tools, skills, and approaches professionals use every day.
Gain a certificate of completion to showcase on your résumé and LinkedIn.
Forage programs are flexible, accessible, and designed to fit into your schedule. Each program replicates the type of work you’d do in a traditional internship, giving you a chance to explore career paths and see if they’re the right fit for you—all at no cost.
Educators also use Forage to bring project-based, experiential learning into the classroom, connecting students with real-world applications from global companies.

At William Paterson, Forage is an approved option within the PowerPaths Career Experience Program, which helps students gain hands-on experience while completing a Career Reflection Experience Course (EXP 2001).
Students who choose Forage as their Career Experience Pathway will:
Complete a minimum of 10–20 hours of Forage simulations.
Enroll in EXP 2001 to reflect on their experiences and connect their learning to career goals.

Submit Your Experience Form
This form officially enrolls you in EXP 2001 and connects your Forage work to your academic record.
Complete Your Track
Work through the programs in your chosen industry track until you reach at least 10–20 hours of experience
Reflect & Earn Credit
Use the Career Reflection course to reflect on what you’ve learned and how it applies to your future career.
