WP Alum Caelan Cardello ’22 Performs at Yamaha Studio in New York City as Part of 2023 American Pianists Association Awards


William Paterson University alumnus Caelan Cardello, a May 2022 jazz studies graduate, recently performed in concert at Yamaha Studio in New York City as one of five top jazz pianists competing for the prestigious national award presented by the American Pianists Association. 

The concert, hosted by WBGO's Nate Chinen, was co-presented by Yamaha and the American Pianists Association. Cardello is the first of the finalists shown performing at this link:

Cardello is among five finalists—including Esteban Castro, Paul Cornish, Thomas Linger and Isaiah J. Thompson—who are competing for the Cole Porter Fellowship, given every four years to an American jazz pianist at the conclusion of the 2023 American Pianists Association’s 13-month competition process. The winner will be announced on April 22, 2023.
