Overview of Academic Resources

There are a range of support services for students that serve students across all colleges:

Content and Process Tutoring:

  • Academic Success Center – Provides academic support both in person (main level Library) or remotely via Teams. Support focuses on a full range of courses across the entire core curriculum, assistance with writing and planning, help with study skills, understanding assignments and opportunities to check in with staff or complete homework in a supportive environment. Students can drop in or schedule through Navigate, and all are welcome to stop in and work using computer stations and materials any time. Primary website here: https://www.wpunj.edu/academics/asc/

  • Science Enrichment Center Online – Provides academic support for a range of STEM courses in a primarily study group format. Sessions are offered both in person in Science Hall East 3023 and online via Zoom. Schedules can be seen and scheduled via Navigate or by stopping in at the Center. • Tutor.com Tutor.com is our 24/7 live remote tutoring option for students across the entire curriculum. Services connect students to a live professional tutor who will work with them to develop understanding and skill in content the student presents. Supports also include reviews of writing, study and organizational skills and regular academic or organizational coaching. Services are free, unlimited, and accessible through the main Blackboard page. Once students log into Blackboard, they should click Tools, then click on the Tutor.com icon to access. We recommend utilizing the "Connect Now" feature which connects students to a tutor for content support they choose in under a minute.

  • Writing Center Online – Provides writing assistance including: reviewing assignments, brainstorming, getting started, expanding ideas, revising early drafts, crafting your thesis, organizing and outlining, adding power and style, using/citing sources, and reviewing strategies for editing and proofreading both in person in Grant Hall 124 or remotely via Zoom. Students should schedule appointments through Navigate. Primary website here: https://www.wpunj.edu/cohss/departments/language-literature-culture-and-writing/resources/writing-center/
