Twenty-One William Paterson University Honors Students to Present their Research at Conferences Across the Country in Spring 2017
Honors students will be presenting their research at three conferences this spring 2017, in disciplines ranging from psychology to communication disorders to music.“ Faculty are emphasizing opportunities for all students to present at conferences, where they can participate in panels and poster sessions and obtain feedback from experts in their academic field,” says Barbara Andrew, interim director of the William Paterson Honors College and a professor of philosophy.

Young Adult Novel Written by William Paterson Professor Marina Budhos Named Walter Dean Myers Honor Book
A new young adult book written by English Professor Marina Budhos, “Watched,” has been named a Walter Dean Myers Honor Book for 2017. “Watched” takes on the topic of Muslim surveillance in New York City through the eyes of fictitious character Naeem, a teenage boy who agrees to be a paid informant for the NYPD’s controversial Muslim spying operation in exchange for a clean record.

William Paterson has been honored as a “military friendly school” for the seventh year in a row by the 2017 Guide to Military Friendly Schools and is included in their online listing at militaryfriendly.com. The University earned the designation from Victory Media which based its decision on public data sources from the Department of Education, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Defense.
