Annual Spring Writer's Conference



The Department of English at the William Paterson University of New Jersey is proud to host an annual writer's conference each spring, which in the past has hosted such writers as Rick Moody, Luc Sante, Paul Muldoon, Andre Aciman, Francine Prose, David Means, Terese Svoboda, Anthony Swofford, Russell Banks, Alison Lurie, Judith Ortiz Cofer, Yusef Komunyakaa, Chang-Rae Lee, Kimiko Hahn, Joyce Carol Oates, Sindiwe Magona, and Susan Sontag.

Join us in April for a day of workshops and readings in creative writing, literature, and publishing. We welcome participation from scholars in all disciplines, creative writers of all stripes, professional editors, secondary-, middle-, and elementary-level educators, graduate and undergraduate students, and the general public--in short, anyone interested in reading, writing and literature. We also offer Professional Development Hours to New Jersey Educators.

A Message from the William Paterson University English Department:

In light of public health concerns about the coronavirus, we are acting out of an abundance of caution and cancelling the 2020 Spring Writer's Conference, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 18th, here on campus.


All already registered attendees will receive a full refund within about 10 days.
