Jim Messina and His Band, The Road Runners, Hit the Shea Center Stage at William Paterson University on November 13

Jim Messina, whose legacy of musical genius spans five decades, three super groups, a vibrant solo career, and scores of producing and engineering credits, brings his band, The Road Runners, to the Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University in Wayne on Friday, November 13. The performance will start at 8:00 p.m.

The show highlights Messina’s musical career, spanning the decades, that includes the groups Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and Loggins & Messina. Messina performed with and was the producer and audio engineer for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Buffalo Springfield. When Buffalo Springfield disbanded in 1968, Messina and fellow bandmate Richie Furay formed Poco. With Messina on lead guitar, Poco defined a new musical genre, country rock, and released three successful albums.

In 1970, Messina joined with then-unknown Kenny Loggins, and they became the duo that sold more than 20 million albums. Loggins & Messina released eight hit albums, sold more than 16 million albums, and had scores of hit songs, including “Danny's Song,” “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “House on Pooh Corner,” and “Angry Eyes.”

After a series of celebrated solo acoustic tours, Messina formed a band composed of acclaimed musicians who have played with him at various points in his career. With his new band, The Road Runners, Messina released his latest live album Here, There & Everywhere.
