NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission Members to Speak at William Paterson University’s Cannabis Research Institute

The Cannabis Research Institute at William Paterson University will host a roundtable with New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission Vice Chair Sam Delgado and Commissioner Charles Baker on Thursday, April 21 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The WP community and general public are invited to take part via Zoom.

The commissioners will discuss current cannabis policies in New Jersey—how they are designed and challenges therein—as well as post-legalization strategies.

The discussion will be moderated by William Paterson business professor Rahi Abouk, health economist and director of the University’s Cannabis Research Institute (CRI). Comprised of University faculty and staff from a range of academic disciplines, the CRI provides evidence-based scientific and social scientific information on topics related to cannabis, as well as opioid drugs and other substances.

“We would like to provide an opportunity for the public to get to learn more about the way local policymakers think when it comes to implementing cannabis policy in New Jersey, especially at this significant time in our state,” Abouk says of the roundtable event.
