William Paterson University to Present Jeff Daniels Online and Unplugged on September 12


William Paterson University in Wayne will launch its fall 2020 virtual performance season with an intimate livestreamed concert by the award-winning movie, television and Broadway actor Jeff Daniels on Saturday, September 12, 2020. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

The evening will feature original music, pointedly funny and poignant songs, stellar guitar work, and stories by Daniels, who in addition to his acting career has performed as a musician in more than 500 clubs and performing arts centers across the United States. Following the livestreamed concert, Daniels will participate in a Q & A session.

Daniels has played in many prominent music venues including New York City’s 54 Below and Birdland, the City Winery in New York and Nashville, and many other prominent music venues. He has studied with Stefan Grossman and Keb Mo, and has shared the stage with musicians such as Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, Christine Lavin, Bruce Hornsby, and David Bromberg. 

His acting credits include more than 60 movies, including Terms of Endearment and Dumb and Dumber. He has received numerous Emmy, Golden Globe, and Tony award nominations for his work. Daniels won an Emmy Award for his performance in the HBO series, The Newsroom, and for his role in the Netflix series Godless. Most recently, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance on Broadway as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird.
