WP Nursing Professors Receive Diva and Don Awards for Advancing Healthcare in New Jersey

Vivek Agnihotri and Dely Po Go, nursing professors at William Paterson University, were two of 13 nurses to receive the Diva and Don award for advancing healthcare in New Jersey by the New Jersey State Nurses Association 's Institute for Nursing.

Agnihotri and Go received the awards at the Institute for Nursing Awards and Scholarship Gala on April 4, 2019 for making an extraordinary impact on the profession and the community.

Agnihotri, a professor of nursing, received his MSN and DNP degrees from William Paterson and is a clinician, educator, and advocate for the profession. He has held multiple positions as a critical care staff nurse, nurse epidemiologist and as a nurse practitioner. He promotes the significance of evidence-based practice at the bedside, and is devoted to teaching and translating science into clinical practice and public policy.

Go, an adjunct at the University, is an educator, entrepreneur, philanthropist and a community leader. She is the founder and owner of Nursing Network LLC, where she serves as the president for nearly 20 years. She has been recognized for her contributions to the profession by the New Jersey League for Nursing. Among her many awards, Go was named the Entrepreneur Nurse of the Year by the Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc., and was honored by the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations as an Outstanding Filipino achiever. Go was also chosen as one of the 2010 NJ Best 50 Women in Business by NJBIZ. Most recently, Go was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award announced in The Wall Street Journal based on her career longevity, philanthropic endeavors and lasting contributions to society.

Through its annual Divas and Dons in Nursing celebration, the Institute for Nursing calls attention to the outstanding achievements of accomplished New Jersey nurses. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships for nursing students and nurses who are advancing their education.
