Students Honored at 10th Annual Garden State-Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation STEM Research Conference

Four William Paterson University students were among 22 students from institutions throughout New Jersey who received awards for their outstanding posters displaying their research findings at the 10th Annual Garden State-Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (GS-LSAMP) Conference held on October 12, 2018 and hosted by Rutgers University.

The award-winning William Paterson students and their mentors included Kristina Hayek, environmental science, and Professor Martin Becker; Veronica Holganza, biology, and Professor Jaishri Menon; Leslie Trigoura, chemistry, and Professor Yalan Xing; and Maria Katrina Holganza, biology, and Professors James Arnone and Yalan Xing.

William Paterson is one of eight institutions that are part of the state-wide Alliance to increase the number of underrepresented minorities graduating with a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) major.
