University Celebrates Black History Month with Lectures, Service and Creative Arts


Lectures, community service, and creative arts support the theme “Proud and Unapologetic: We Are the Culture” for William Paterson University’s annual observance of Black History Month during February 2018. Events include:

Friday, February 2

  • Dawn Treader School Community Service Trip,
    Students spend the day with K-8th graders performing arts and crafts, writing assignments and gym activities.  Pick-up in Lot 5 at 9:30 a.m.
    Drop off in Lot 5 at 2:30 p.m.

  • Milk & Melanin Extravaganza, 9 p.m., University Ballrooms ABC
    Formal black and white fundraiser for Black Mental Health Alliance
    $3 students and $7 guests

Saturday, February 3

  • Bella Chanel Mentoring Program, women mentoring young women
    Pick-up in Lot 5 at 10:15 a.m.
    Drop off in Lot 5 at 4:30 p.m.
