Post Master's Adult Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Programs

The program is designed for professional registered nurses who have previously earned a Masters degree with a major in nursing interested in pursuing certification in advanced nursing practice. The School of Nursing currently offers a Post-Masters Certificate in Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner.  Students in the Post - Masters Certificate Program will complete the necessary theory and practicum course requirements in the track in order to be eligible to sit for the Adult Gerontology or Family Nurse Practitioner certification examination (American Association of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center). The Master's Degree Program is accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) 1 Dupont Circle, NW Suite 530, Washington, D.C., Telephone (202) 887-6791, till June 30, 2030.

Admission Requirements:

In addition to the University’s admission requirements:

  • Active professional nurse licensure (RN) in the state of New Jersey. 
  • Completed master's in nursing degree
  • Interview with program director as needed. 
  • A current resume including two names of reference (former faculty and current manager/supervisor)
