Formative Assessment: Clinical supervisors will observe TSD-E candidate two (2) times throughout the semester. After each observation, the clinical supervisors will complete an Observation Assessment (lesson plan and journal feedback) and a narrative feedback form through Anthology Portfolio (formerly known as Chalk and Wire). TSD-E clinical educators, is applicable, will complete an Observation Assessment (attendance and disposition feedback) and a narrative feedback form through Anthology Portfolio (formerly known as Chalk and Wire) at the midpoint of the semester.
Summative Assessment: Clinical supervisors and TSD-E mentors and clinical educators, if applicable, will complete the CEC PACE at the end of semester as a final report.
Success Criteria: The ratings of the CEC PACE are averaged providing a final 1 – 4 point score. A score of 3 or higher is a passing score unless there is a emerging (1) rating in one area. A score of 2.999 and lower and/or one emerging (1) rating is considered a failing score. The clinical summative assessment is 40% of the clinical course grade.
Clinical Supervisors use evidence from observations, journal entries, and submitted work to assess the TSD-E candidate on the CEC PACE Body of Evidence Grid: SPC 6540/6750 Clinical

LDT-C Mentors will complete a LDT-C Observation PACE and a narrative feedback form through Anthology Portfolio (formerly known as Chalk and Wire) at the mid-point of the semester.

Teacher candidates in need of additional support may receive a supportive action plan, Directions and Clinical Intern Action Plan document, from their clinical supervisor and/or clinical educator. This document is used to help identify specific areas in need of improvement and required actions for improvement.
Concerns for or by a clinical experience student may be instructional or non-instructional. Instructional concerns may include lack of content knowledge or insufficient classroom skills. Non-instructional concerns may include lack of professionalism, lack of motivation, health problems, economic problems, communication difficulties, interpersonal relations, or other attitudinal issues or values.
