Faculty Training for Fall 2020

IRT is pleased to announce faculty training for Fall 2020. There are several teaching options for the coming semester, which are described on the Office of the Provost web site. Center for Teaching with Technology training sessions will cover Hybrid and HyFlex teaching, as well as other topics as requested by faculty via the survey sent out earlier this summer.

If you need to brush up on your Blackboard skills, then Bb 101 is for you. This documentation covers everything you'll need to teach using Blackboard.

HyFlex Teaching with the HoverCam Solo 8Plus Please see the ITwiki HoverCam page for information on using the HoverCam (installed in each classroom on campus and in Valley Road 1600) as a Document Viewer and a Webcam/microphone. This piece of equipment is available for all faculty who choose the HyFlex teaching option. Also, watch the HyFlex Teaching Workshop video for more information.

YuJa is WPU’s new streaming video platform, replacing NJVid/illumira.  It allows faculty and students to create desktop video recordings, upload them and other videos to the cloud, and use them later on as student learning resources.  In this workshop, faculty will learn how to:

-          Create and upload videos to YuJa

-          Embed videos into Blackboard for convenient student access

-          Edit and caption content

-          Allow students to upload videos they create for your courses

-          Search among thousands of professionally-produced videos available to assist course instruction
