The William Paterson University School of Nursing has received the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students grant, a five-year, $3.25 million grant through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The grant aims to increase the health care workforce diversity in primary care throughout rural and urban communities. Annually, $650,000 will be used for scholarships for full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the nursing major. Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the HRSA guidelines for disadvantaged backgrounds.

 
To apply students must complete 
   
2. Complete an essay of 250 words indicating their interest to work as a primary care nurse in
    a medically underserved community and email to nursinghrsa@wpunj.edu
3. Have a completed FAFSA application submitted to financial Aid office for the academic year
 
About the scholarship
This Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students program is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of an award totaling $3.25 million with zero percent financed with nongovernmental sources.
