Holmes Honor Program

Our Greatest Strength is Helping You Find Yours

If you have the will to succeed, William Paterson University will give you the power to achieve greatness.  With an entire campus dedicated to your success, our mission is to help you discover your unique strengths and educate you on how to use them to make an impact on the world.

William Paterson University is the first higher education institution to offer an American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) Holmes Honor® Program for undergraduate students majoring in education.  The program was developed originally in 1991 to provide mentorship, peer support, and professional development to students from historically underrepresented backgrounds completing their doctorates in education.

The Holmes Honors® program for undergraduate students was launched in the 2015-16 academic year.  For more information about Holmes @ WP, please contact Dr. David Fuentes, Director of the Holmes Programs at WP, and Associate professor of Elementary & Early Childhood Education.
