Facilities

The Art Department is constantly growing and changing, to respond to the dynamism of the art world as well as to the needs of industry. At William Paterson University the department of Art is located in two facilities, the Ben Shahn Center for the Visual Arts and the Power Arts Center.

Ben Shahn Center for the Visual Arts houses:

  • Studios for Visual Arts Foundation Courses
  • Art History Classrooms and Facilities
  • Two Graphic design labs
  • Computer graphics lab
  • Two Animation Labs
  • Sound Engineering Room
  • Textile studio

The spacious Power Art Center offers fully equipped studios and labs for:

  • Photography
  • Printmaking
  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Digital and Traditional Sculpture
  • Ceramics
  • Digital 3D Production as well as a Computer Lab  

Additionally the Power Art Center is the home of the Center for New Art which features a 7-axis robot lab and production studio.
