Overview

College of Education Diversity and Equity in Teaching and Learning Series: Difficult stories and debates about immigrants, migrants, and refugees are on the front page of the news nearly every day. This workshop will look indepth at the issues around immigration, migration, asylum seeking, human rights and more. Through interactive activities, we will define important vocabulary terms, explore a brief history of immigration in the United States, and look at our personal family migration stories to help place the current situation in deeper context. Participants will leave with tools and activities to address these complex topics with students.
