Classroom spaces are available in buildings throughout the main campus. These spaces come equipped with classroom, lecture, and conference style seating and audio visual presentation capabilities. Your meeting will be supported by technical staff, available to handle all your audio-visual needs.
This modern facility at 1600 Valley Road offers classrooms, computer labs, conference rooms, a small auditorium, and video conferencing capabilities for meeting participants who may be located across town, the country or the world. In addition, an inviting café, convenient parking, and knowledgeable staff creates the perfect setting in which to relax, learn, and make new connections.

The Sports and Recreation Center, which serves as the focal point for all university indoor recreational and athletic activities, contains a 20,000 square foot air-conditioned multi-purpose area that can accommodate 3,000 spectators for concerts; host exhibitions, tradeshows, and summer camps, or be divided into three court areas for basketball and volleyball. The facility also contains racquetball/handball courts and state-of-the-art weight and fitness facilities. Locker rooms are equipped with showers.
Shea Auditorium, located in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts, is a 922-seat theater. Outfitted with stadium-style seating, it provides excellent sightlines from almost every seat in the house. Its extended-apron stage has 42-foot-wide by 19-foot high proscenium. The theater is available for rental for meetings, concerts, lectures, dance recitals, and other performances. Rental use of this fully equipped performance space includes its computerized lighting system, custom sound systems, and our professional and highly regarded stage crew and other personnel. Dressing rooms and adjacent practice rooms are also available for rent.
The University Commons Conference Center offers attendees a 900-seat ballroom with moveable walls that can easily be configured to handle and support any guest list—from 400 people banquet style to an array of smaller spaces for scaled-down, more intimate events. Four additional break-out meeting rooms are located on the lower level directly under the main ballroom, and the complex is adjacent to the mall style food court and many casual lounges. All rooms are equipped with high-tech multimedia capabilities. The venue can be set up lecture, conference and/or banquet style depending on the needs of your party. Breakout Rooms below the Ballroom Just below our expansive Ballroom venue are four conference rooms available to accommodate your next event’s specific breakout session needs. The rooms are just a flight of stairs or elevator ride away, making it easy and efficient to host your large scale event in one centralized location. Depending on the furniture setup style (conference or lecture), each conference room can accommodate and seat comfortably 24 to 45 guests or they can be combined to create a larger seating space. Additional Meeting Spaces The University Commons offers an array of meeting spaces to cater to all event sizes including smaller intimate gatherings to large meetings. They are perfect for business meetings, breakout and training sessions, and much more. Depending on the furniture setup style (conference or lecture), each conference room can accommodate and seat comfortably 10 to 80 guests.
University Commons The University Commons, located at the center of main campus, is an attractive destination for outside rentals and events. The Student Center is home to the campus' most popular areas including the Paterson Food Court, Center Cafe, and the Entertainment Center. With two connected buildings, this location has over a dozen available venues to cater to your next gathering. An added bonus to hosting your event in the University Commons is our hands-on Hospitality Services staff.
