Adaptive Technology

The following are Adaptive Technology available to registered students of the Accessibility Resource Center at William Paterson University:

Users must register with the Accessibility Resource Center

  • A Kurzweil Omni 1000 reading/scanning workstation
    • For students with visual impairments.
  • A Kurzweil Omni 3000 reading/scanning workstation
    • For students with learning disabilities.
  • Dragon Systems Naturally Speaking
    • Speech recognition software is available as a typing/writing tool.
    • For students with hand or finger dexterity difficulty or students with learning difficulties that affect writing skills.

Other Equipment:

  • Optelec video magnification system (CCTV)
    • Magnification approximately 4x to 100x.
    • For students with visual impairments.
  • ZoomText software
    • Available in Labs throughout campus.
    • For students with visual impairments.
  • JAWS software
    • Available in Labs throughout campus.
    • For students with visual impairments.
