Available Now! Duo Multifactor Authentication for Students

What is Duo multifactor authentication?
Like two-factor or multifactor authentication used by banking, shopping, and social media sites, Duo multifactor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your WP account and its access to WPconnect, WP email, Blackboard and other university systems. This extra security protects your information, including your coursework/grades and bank account information for refunds and direct deposits, and helps to prevent email scams that target students and employees.

Duo is currently optional for students but will be required for all student employees in the coming weeks.

How does Duo work?
After entering your username and password, you will be prompted to approve your login with the Duo Mobile smartphone app. Watch the Duo for Students video below. Approving with a push notification is quick and easy.

How do I enable Duo on my WPUNJ account?
Note: you will need a smartphone to install the Duo mobile app

  • Login to WPconnect
  • In WPconnect, click on your name (either at the top right corner or in the mobile menu) and then click My Profile
  • In the My Profile menu, click Enroll in Duo Multifactor Authentication
  • Read the information on the Duo Information page and then click Continue to Enrollment
  • On the enrollment page, click Start Setup and then follow the instructions on the screen (make sure to have your mobile device available.)

Where can I get help?
If you have questions or would like assistance in setting up Duo on your account, please contact the Information Technology Helpdesk at www.wpunj.edu/helpdesk or (973) 720-4357.

Thank you for working with us to ensure that your WPUNJ account is secure.
