After going fully remote for all courses in March of 2020 due to COVID-19, the University offered a variety of course formats for fall 2020. In person, fully online, hybrid and HyFlex courses were available for William Paterson students. HyFlex classes were taught in person and online at the same time. Cameras and microphones were needed in the classrooms so faculty could be seen and heard by their remote students. As it turned out, many classrooms already had HoverCam document cameras, which also have webcams and microphones built in. The rest of the classrooms on campus were quickly equipped with HoverCams, and faculty were shown how to use them to teach HyFlex classes. Faculty were able to teach in person and online simultaneously, so that students had options of coming to campus or learning from home.
