Ron Jones is the Managing Director, of the Institute of Leadership Studies and History, which provides small and midsized organizations with solutions to support achieving the behavioral goals of their current and future leaders. Ron’s unique blend of sales, sales management and people development experiences have provided him with the capability to assist others in achieving performance objectives.
Ron’s sales career has been primarily within the health care industry. His responsibilities have included headquarters leadership roles as well as field based sales roles with Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Becton Dickinson (BD). While with J&J, as a field sales associate, he was recognized for exceeding growth as well as revenue objectives. As the Assistant Manger of Sales Training, he developed and implemented product and skill development training for various levels of field sales associates. He also assisted in the execution of a career pathing process and supported the implementation of new product launches. As a Regional Sales Manager with BD, Ron managed sales representatives that sold into metro facilities in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. As a key account manager, Ron has extensive experience in account management and contracting with national GPOs as well as regional Integrated Delivery Networks. In the Director of Sales Training role with BD, Ron developed an Expected Curriculum that identified the specific learning experiences that field sales associates and sales leaders were held accountable to participate in. Additionally, he developed processes to assess the skill level of sales consultants, as well as people managers. He also played a key role in the development and execution of a corporate diversity initiative that focused on driving an environment of inclusion beginning with senior executive level management. From 2006 thru the present, Ron has pursued his lifetime career goal of providing skill development to individuals as well as teams, as an independent Training/Leadership Development Consultant. He has nurtured alliance partner relationships with Performance Impact of Cary, NC and Sandler Training in Mercerville, NJ. Ron’s basis for success has been his ability to provide skill development to individuals as well as teams, which have resulted in positive measurable behavioral changes, maximizing performance levels and achieving identified goals.
