Mingsheng Liu and Yong Liu Distinguished Visiting Artist Series: 
Huangsheng Wang, a famous Contemporary Chinese Artist visits William Paterson University

Huangsheng Wang, Director of Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing China and Deputy Director of the Art Museum Committee of China. Xiaofu Yu, a famous Chinese artist and Vice President of the Shanghai Artists Association, was invited to visit William Paterson University for Chinese Painting Demonstration?and Lecture and Presentation from October 1 to October 10, 2013.

Huangsheng Wang, obtained the Knight medal of Art and Literature awarded by the French government In 2004, and he obtained the Knight medal awarded by the President of Italy in 2006.

Distinguished Visiting Artists from the Printmaking College of China National Art Institute of China

The Center for Chinese Art at William Paterson University in collaboration with SGC International Wisconsin 2013 and College of Printmaking, China National Art Institute to invite a group artists for an artists residency program, an international printmaking exhibition and an international panel presentation from March 9th – March 25, 2013.

Guirong Lou, a researcher of Printmaking College of China National Art Institute, the First-Class of the National Artist and Vice-president of Yingchuang Artist Association. He has totally won 15 medals such as the gold, silver and bronze medal of the National Arts and Printmaking Exhibition, the Guanlan International Printmaking Award, Chinese Arts Goldcolor Prize, The Luxun Printmaking Prize and so on since 1990.


Chao Chen, a Researcher at the China Jiangsu Printmaking Academy, Jiangsu Art Museum is a first level Chinese artist at the national level. Frequently exhibited in national and international art exhibitions, Chen’s works have won various awards such as Gold Medal of the 16th China National Printmaking Exhibition, 2011; Bronze Award of the 10th and the 11th China National Printmaking Exhibition, and the highest honors The Luxun Printmaking Prize by China Printmaking Society.

Professor Weishan Wu, Academy of Chinese Sculpture, a Lecture and Presentation

Weishan Wu was invited for a Sculpture Lecture and Presentation on September 10th, 2012.

Weishan Wu, won the Pangolin Award of the British Society of Portrait Sculptors in 2003. He won the Chinese Urban Sculpture Achievement Award, the highest award in urban sculpture in China in 2009, and the China Arts Award, a special honor in Chinese literary and art circles in 2011. The Nanjing Museum of China hosts a permanent gallery, called “The Cultural Celebrity Sculptures of Weishan Wu," and INJE University of South Korea hosts the “Weishan Wu Sculpture Park."

Professor Shiguang Qiao and his Assistant Xianlin Kong from Tsinghua University, China

Shiguang Qiao was invited to visit William Paterson University for A demonstration, lecture, and presentation from April 7 to 10, 2012.


Shinguang Qiao, the Professor of Tsinghua University is a renowned Chinese artist and one of the pioneers in Chinese modern lacquer painting. He is also an active board member of the Chinese National Artist Association and serves as the President of the Lacquer Painting Committee at the Beijing Arts And Crafts Institute.

Dawn Chen-Ping:  former provost and currently the professor and director of the printmaking department at Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan, China. Professor Dawn Chen-ping is also an internationally known contemporary artist.

October 21-30, 2011

Symposium: The Importance of Drawing in Foundation and Contemporary Art, Printmaking Workshop and Life Drawing Demonstration.

Sun, Jingbo: Professor and Vice President of Academic Board of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Chair of the Mural Painting Department, has had his work shown in many national art museums across the globe, and is a very renowned painter in China.


Zhou Zhiyu: Professor and Chair of Department of Foundation of the College of Design at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, a very renowned Printmaker, Poet, and Artist throughout China, and his work is collected and shown in many museums across the globe.


Wang Yuping: Associate Professor, Painting Department and graduate from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, has had much work in group and solo exhibitions internationally and nationally, and is published in "Wang Yuping Work Collection."


Wang Chunchen: Associacte Professor and Curator of Central Academy of Fine Arts' Art Museum, where he earned his PHD in Art History, has published more than 300 articles, and in 2009 won the "China Modern Art Prize."

Kang Rong:  Director of the Chinese Art Institute of Nantong, China, Director of the Nantong Geyi Art Museum, is a first-class national birds and flower painter in China.


Hou Dejian: Chairman of the Nantong Association of Fine Artists, is a first-class national figurative artist in China.


Dong Chenwei:  Research Fellow at the Chinese Art Institute of Nantong, Vice Chairman of the Wang Geyi Art Research Society, is well known for his vivid paintings of birds and flowers in east China.


Zhu Jianzhong:  Research Fellow at the Chinese Art Institute of Nantong, Vice Chairman of the Nantong Association of Fine Artists, is a first-class national landscape artist in China.


International Student Exchange Program
Fall 2010 

As 2010 Taiwan Merit Fellowship receivers from Taipei National University of Arts, Ms. Tzou, Shin-Huei; Mr. Guo, Wen-Cheng; Ms. Zhong, Pei Wen and Ms. Lee, Hsuan-pei, will be invited to William Paterson University for a graduate student exchange program from September 14 through October 28, 2010. They will take printmaking courses, give printmaking demonstrations, exhibit their works and visit art museums during their visit.
