Job Description

The Dance Coach will be responsible for, but not limited to, the preparation and support of William Paterson Dance Team [club] to perform at athletic sporting events, on- and off-campus events, and competitions, as determined by the club. They will assist the team in choreographing and overall administration of the squad. The Dance Coach will positively promote the team and University through squad involvement in University programs and events, fundraising, and leadership development. The coach will assist the team’s executive board in the development and management of the budget based on the dance club’s operational needs and goals. Furthermore, the dance coach will work alongside the team’s executive board and provide leadership and achieve goals. Candidates must be committed to the academic goals and student conduct expectations of William Paterson University. In addition, they must demonstrate a clear knowledge and adherence to safe sport practices and follow the rules and guidelines set forth by Dance Club, Department of Recreational Services, and William Paterson University.

Additional Information
Part-time, contract position. Must be available for all practices and performances, which may be as frequent as three (3) or more times per week and largely held on evenings and weekends. First Aid/CPR certification required. Candidate must have experience choreographing (primarily hip-hop and jazz funk) and teaching dance movements, techniques, warm ups and routines, and working with a variety of male and female athletes. The coach should have a willingness to support and assist with club fundraising efforts. The candidate must show the ability to work with the Recreational Services administration and staff.
