Much of the important work of the Center for Teaching Excellence goes on behind the scenes. Faculty interested in working to improve their teaching can contact the center for an informal consultation on any aspect of teaching, for tips on course design, for a "mid-course Adjustment" or other student survey, for an unofficial peer observation, for video or audio recording of a class for closer analysis, or for help finding and recruiting a mentor within their department. Individual work with the Center can begin with an informal meeting with one or both directors in order to map out a faculty member's goals and decide what individual or group activities might be helpful. All such consultations are strictly confidential; the Center's work is in no way part of the WPU retention or tenure process.
