Is CCOB at William Paterson University AACSB accredited?

Yes, the Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business has received accreditation from AACSB International – AACSB Accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Less than 5% of the world's 13,000 business programs have earned AACSB Accreditation. AACSB-accredited schools produce graduates that are highly skilled and more desirable to employers than other non-accredited schools.

How many credits are required for an MBA degree? Can I get courses waived?

The MBA program requires students to complete forty-eight credit hours, of which up to eighteen lower core credit hours may be waived.

  • 18 credit lower core (waivable) - Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing and Management Information Systems.
  • 15 credit upper core for general MBA degree and 12 credit upper core for MBA concentrations  
  • 15 credit elective for general MBA degree and 15 credit concentration plus 3 credit elective for MBA concentrations

Who will teach MBA classes at William Paterson University?

All faculty assigned to teach in the MBA program at CCOB have a Ph.D. in their disciplines and are actively engaged in research and/or consulting activities. Occasionally, accomplished practitioners are invited to teach their related fields.

Do you have evening classes?

The MBA program is designed for part-time students who are working full time. Therefore all courses are given at night or on the weekend.

Do you offer concentrations in your MBA program?

Yes, we offer choices of concentrations in accounting, finance, and music management. Accounting concentration will enable students to pursue an MBA degree while preparing for their CPA examinations and Finance concentration will offer the students a choice to pursue an MBA degree while preparing for their CFA examinations. Concentration in Music Management is one of only few offered in the US and will take advantage of our proximity to NYC to offer the graduate students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the industry environment.

Can I take courses without being admitted to the program?

Yes, you can take up to 9 credits (3 courses) before being accepted into the program.

What is the deadline for applications?

There is no specific deadline.  Applications are accepted and evaluated as they arrive.
