The centerpiece of campus life at William Paterson is the University Commons, featuring the redesigned John Victor Machuga Student Center. This complex, reconfigured in 2007, is designed with an expanse of glass to highlight the campus's visual beauty. The University Commons Conference Center offers attendees a 900-seat ballroom with moveable walls that can easily be configured to handle and support any guest list --from 400 people banquet style to an array of smaller spaces for scaled-down, more intimate events. Four additional meeting rooms are located on the lower level directly under the main ballroom. The complex also houses Wayne Dining Hall and the Paterson Food Court.
