INFORMATION FOR
Patricia (Pat) Moore joined the Library Staff in September 1992 as a part-time principal clerk in the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) under the supervision of Marie Radford. In 2004 she became a full-time technical library assistant under the supervision of Yvonne Roux. Pat was responsible for creating numerous bulletin boards and exhibits in the CMC, researching and compiling bibliographies in various educational subjects, and aiding students in selecting titles for lesson plans. She spent hours checking for curriculum guides in New Jersey school districts and made them accessible on the CMC web page, which she diligently tried to keep free from errors. Pat also served on many committees at the Cheng Library, including staff development, picnic committee, anniversary committee, leisure lounge, and library council.
In recent years, Pat provided the Library and students with many de-stress events, including various crafting experiences. Pat also kept the center running after Yvonne Roux retired in 2019 and prior to the hiring of Neil Grimes as the Education and Curriculum Materials Librarian. During the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Pat worked from home for most of 2020, creatively launching the SMORE Virtual Bulletin Boards and introducing Zoom-hosted crafting activities. Pat also developed a virtual newsletter for Education majors with resources and lesson plans for grades PreK-12. These last few years have been difficult for everyone. Still, with resilience, Pat learned that the need to improve is good for the soul and spent many hours utilizing LinkedIn Learning and other virtual opportunities to enhance her professional contributions to the Library.
After nearly 30 years at William Paterson University, all of which were in the Cheng Library, Pat Moore retired on January 1st, 2023. She plans to spend time reading, singing, playing handbells, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.
