INFORMATION FOR
William Paterson University student Natalia Rybak is one of 12 recipients of the first RIA Talent Advantage Student Scholarship, awarded by Schwab Advisor Services and the Charles Schwab Foundation.
Rybak, a resident of Bridgewater, will receive $10,000 for the 2021-22 academic year and will be matched with an advisor/mentor from Schwab Advisor Services.
The RIA Talent Advantage Student Scholarship was created to help remove financial barriers, advocate for diversity, and open doors for future talent within the independent registered investment advisor (RIA) industry, with half being awarded to students from historically underrepresented groups.
“The professors within the financial planning major really push you and encourage you to do your best,” says Rybak, a junior financial planning major and member of the University’s Honors College. “The program has exposed me to so many more opportunities than I would've thought possible. I am just very excited for my next couple years here and for my career after I finish William Paterson University.”
Student applications spanned 46 universities with 70 percent of applicants coming from diverse backgrounds and were approved by judges that serve on Schwab Advisor Services’ new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Advocacy Board. The board was created with the specific focus of creating a more diverse and inclusive workspace in the RIA industry. This scholarship is intended to help them achieve this goal.
