Financial Planning Students Participate in Charles Schwab IMPACT Conference in San Diego

Three William Paterson financial planning students had the opportunity to attend the Schwab Impact 2019 conference held in San Diego, California from November 4 to 7, 2019, where they networked, participated in panels and attended educational sessions. They were accompanied by Tao Guo, assistant professor in the Department of Economics, Finance and Global Business in the Cotsakos College of Business.

Zach Merring, Evan Smith, and Sahir Ghanim, all members of William Paterson’s Financial Planning Club, represented William Paterson University at the conference for financial advisors.

The students heard several noteworthy speakers, including Charles Schwab, the founder and chairman of the board, who shared his journey founding the company and his passion to serve investors.

Schwab invited 90 students from 17 schools to the event to network with investment advisory firms, participate in sessions about the latest industry practices, and attend education sessions on topics such as cybersecurity.
