From left are Marshall Sigall '73, Janet (Kopf) Sigall '74, Pat (Mulqueen) Murphy '73 and Chuck Murphy '73 who all met in 1971 at what was then known as William Paterson College.Marshall was a science major, Janet was a nursing major. They married in 1974 - 43 years ago! Pat and Chuck were both political science majors, and they married in 1975 - 42 years ago! The group of friends has remained close through the years. They get together other almost every month and go on vacations and baseball trips together.
Eddie Baldofsky '16 and Emily Bruno '16 met at William Paterson University in April of 2013 during Greek Week. They started talking and have been inseparable ever since. On Dec. 22, 2017, they got engaged at Pier A Park in Hoboken.
Robert Giannetti '90 and Renee (Pierri) Giannetti '90 met on the second day of their freshman year at WP. They dated, broke up, and then he came running back! Robert and Renee were engaged during their senior year at William Paterson, and were married in May of 1992. Almost 26 years later, they're still going strong. The couple is seen here on their commencement day in 1990.
Al LoMartire '16 (Mathematics & Secondary Education) and Kristina Sternesky '17 (Communication) met in Fall '14 as members of the Student Government Association. Al was the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Kristina was the Club Council Representative. They got to know each other well through SGA and eventually started spending time together outside of the office. They started dating in January 2015. Two and a half years later, Al took Kristina on a vacation to Sicily and proposed in Pollina, a tiny Italian village in the mountains, where his parents grew up. Their wedding is set for April 2019.
Kenya Roman '99 and Rocco Spoon '98 met on a random night at the "apartments" on campus while Rocco was looking for someone to play cards with him. They kept bumping into each other and eventually went on their first date - on Valentine's Day - 21 years ago! Kenya and Rocco have been married for 13 years and they have two sons.
Andrew Shapiro '14 and Jennifer Chrzanowski '14, both Communication majors, started at William Paterson University in Fall 2010. They met in the amphitheater in between High Mountain East and West on their first night on campus while singing songs with friends and sharing stories from high school. Two years later, Andrew played Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" for Jennifer over the airwaves of 88.7 FM Brave New Radio and asked her to be his girlfriend. They had their first date at Park Wayne Diner and have spent plenty of date nights in the score box of the Ice Vault where Andrew was "Voice of the Pioneers". On Jan. 6, 2018, Andrew proposed to Jennifer on top of the Empire State Building.
