Alternative Testing and ARC Portal Information

This page is designed for faculty to view the alternative testing responsibilities of students who plan to use their alternative testing accommodations, as well as the roles of faculty members and ARC. 

  • Students' Responsibilities
    • Student will discuss alternative testing exam request(s) with Instructor.  
    • Student will submit an alternative testing request at least 5 days prior to each exam (10 days prior to final exams)  
    • Student will contact the Accessibility Resource Center as soon as possible if assistance is needed regarding submitting an alternative testing request.  
    • On the day of the exam, student will arrive at the Accessibility Resource Center on time and complete their exam ethically.   

  • Faculty Alternative Testing Responsibilities
    • Faculty should meet with students to review their specific testing accommodations. This meeting should be initiated by the student.  
    • Faculty member will complete the Faculty Testing Agreement via Arc Portal so that the Accessibility Resource Center can proctor the exam adequately.   
    • Faculty should communicate with the Accessibility Resource Center if there are any questions, concerns, or updates regarding any upcoming exams via email: arc-testing@wpunj.edu , or by calling the office: 973-720-2853.  

  • ARC Alternative Testing Responsibilities
    • The Accessibility Resource Center will provide any updates regarding the Testing Center to all parties.  
    • Answer any questions and/or concerns students and instructors may have regarding the alternative testing process.
