Hundreds of enthusiastic young students recited poems in different languages at William Paterson University on May 16 during the 30th Orlando Saa Foreign Language Poetry Recitation Contest on campus.
The contest provides middle and high school students an opportunity to demonstrate their world language skills in a collegiate environment. In 2010, the event was named in honor of Orlando Saa, a professor in the University's Department of Language and Culture, upon his retirement after 36 years in the faculty. Saa died on Saturday, May 11, 2013 and was known for his love of languages and poetry.
