President Kathleen Waldron Receives Community Award on Behalf of William Paterson University at 2015 St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Charity Ball

Award presented for community engagement and development of programs that meet the needs of a wide range of people

President Kathleen Waldron will receive the Michael and Yolanda Simonelli Community Award at the 2015 St. Joseph’s Hospital Wayne Charity Ball, to be held on Saturday, December 12, at the Venetian in Garfield.

President Waldron will be honored for her commitment to engaging the University with its community and for recognizing and developing programs to meet the needs of a wide range of people from children to adults. Also honored will be Dr. Michael Steinberg, a radiologist, who will receive the Distinguished Physician Award. The annual event supports the St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Foundation.

“I am truly honored to be selected to receive this award from the St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Foundation on behalf of the University,” says President Waldron.  “We are proud of our long relationship with St. Joseph’s, and work closely with St. Joseph’s on a wide range of mutual topics in the sciences, including curriculum, field experiences for our nursing and kinesiology students, workshops and programs for the community, and emergency preparedness. We look forward to continuing to develop additional opportunities for collaboration.
