William Paterson University Cotsakos College of Business Maintains Prestigious AACSB Accreditation

Cotsakos College of Business is one of five percent of business schools worldwide to carry accreditation considered the “hallmark of excellence” in business education

William Paterson University’s Cotsakos College of Business and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) have announced that a recent peer review panel has reaffirmed the College’s status as an AACSB-accredited undergraduate and master’s-level business program for the next five years.

This is the second time the programs of the Cotsakos College of Business have been reaccredited since initial accreditation in 2005.

“We are proud to be among five percent of the nearly 14,000 business programs offered internationally that have received the seal of quality approval by the AACSB,” says Kathleen Waldron, president of William Paterson University. “Graduating from the AACSB-accredited programs in our Cotsakos College of Business provides our students with excellent credentials for job opportunities and career advancement.”

“Faculty and staff in the Cotsakos College of Business pride themselves on the education they provide to our students and on the scholarship that informs that education, says Warren Sandmann, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at William Paterson University. “The decision by AACSB to continue our accreditation validates the work that we do for our students.”

“Continuing accreditation of our business programs by the AACSB is a testament to our commitment to offer a high quality and affordable business education to our deserving students,” says Siamack Shojai, dean, Cotsakos College of Business.

William Paterson’s Cotsakos College of Business offers a range of undergraduate programs and MBA concentrations in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and music management.

The Cotsakos College of Business offers programs that provide students with real-world business experience. Students benefit from the Russ Berrie Institute for Professional Sales, a nationally recognized leader in educating students for rewarding and successful careers in sales, as well as the award-winning financial planning program, and the Financial Learning Center, an active trading room that brings the world financial markets to campus.

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs. Today, there are 755 business schools in 51 countries and territories that maintain AACSB accreditation. Similarly, 182 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.
