William Paterson University will hold a social media research and practice summit on April 10, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the University Commons. The event is free and open to the public.
New Jersey Social Media Summit is a day-long event that will bring together scholars, practitioners and students to explore the latest social media research and trends. The event is sponsored by the MA in Professional Communication Program at William Paterson.
Katie Delahaye Paine, a pioneer in the field of measurement for public relations and social media, is the keynote speaker. Her books, Measure What Matters (Wiley, March 2011) and Measuring Public Relationships (KDPaine & Partners) are considered must reads for anyone tasked with measuring public relations and social media.
The itinerary includes a keynote address, panel discussion, competitive social media research poster session, breakout discussion and closing remarks/awards.
Other speakers include: Brandi Boatner, digital experience manager at IBM Global Technology Services; Jennifer Gibbs, associate professor in the School of Communication and Information, Rutgers University; Tina McCorkindale, associate professor of public relations, Appalachian State University; Lisa Chewning, assistant professor, corporate communications, Penn State University; Angie Yoo, assistant professor, William Paterson University and Matt Crick, assistant professor, William Paterson University.
The program is the second event in the College of the Arts and Communication’s “Arts Dialogue Series,” and is made possible by the generous funding of the William Paterson University Alumni Association’s Distinguished Visiting Professorship.
