More than one dozen departments, representing all five Colleges, participated, as well as the University’s Office of Student Development and Small Business Development Center. Some of the exhibits—in art, business, education, music and social science—will focus primarily on their connection to the City of Paterson. Others, in environmental studies and public health, will also have a regional focus. The event highlighted the University’s collaboration with agencies, businesses, organizations, and schools in the Paterson Metropolitan Region. A jazz quintet provided music at the reception.
The Paterson Metropolitan Region Research Center will provide support and connections for faculty and student research about the Paterson metropolitan region, and will promote a greater understanding of the history, importance, and contemporary relevance of the Paterson metropolitan area to North Jersey’s citizens.
