New Program Rewards University Staff for a Job Well Done

The WP P.R.I.D.E. Staff Excellence Awards program enables staff members to recognize and reward colleagues for their extraordinary efforts, contributions, commitment, and innovation

Many William Paterson staff members enhance the University’s reputation by going out of their way to help a student, assist a colleague, or take swift, appropriate action to ensure a job is done well. Now, through the WP P.R.I.D.E. Staff Excellence Awards program, there is a way to recognize and reward your colleagues for their extraordinary efforts, contributions, commitment, and innovation.

“This is a wonderful and easy way to reward colleagues who go above and beyond to advance the University’s goals through their extraordinary personal efforts, contributions, or innovation,” says Desyra Highsmith, associate director, Human Resources. “I invite everyone to sign up and use the program.”

All full-time and part-time employees are invited to sign up for WP P.R.I.D.E. (Praising, Results, Innovation, Dedication, and Excellence) by clicking on the link https://wppride.teamphoria.com to register. Employees may use their University email address to log in and register by creating a unique password.

A colleague may be nominated for a CARES Award for demonstrating concern, resolving challenges, and establishing strong connections with students and colleagues.

A PIONEER Award will be given for creative improvements and innovative programs that impact student success or retention, or University culture.

Employees are invited to give their colleagues “medals” through the Teamphoria website or via Human Resources, and from that, award winners are selected by an impartial CARES Council composed of employees throughout the campus. Several CARES and PIONEER awards may be given monthly.

The most impactful contribution by an individual or team will be rewarded with the WP P.R.I.D.E. Award in May 2015. The winner of this special award and recognition will be selected from among the Pioneer Award winners.

Award prizes may include breakfast bagels for the team, quarterly luncheons, and Pioneer Express dollars.

Employees without computer access may obtain the nomination forms from the University’s Human Resources Department. To learn about the WP P.R.I.D.E. Staff Excellence Awards program, click here.
